Realised after rather mammoth burble of 'Here Kitty Kitty!!' that having splurged rather fully on things Le Riche, I hadn't mentioned the awful events in London.
Have heard from most of our friends who do the London thing. First reaction to the news was that I was very glad to be half way round the world. And then sad that we are only able to feel safe because we live at the arse end of civilisation. And then sad that many people that we care about are not able to feel safe.
I remember in the early 90s when I was commuting on the tube into town everyday, that I never really felt completely relaxed and comfortable till I was sitting in my office (was fairly sure that a Manpower office was not going to be a major target for the IRA!).
Strange hearing the kiwi reporting of the incident - "so far we believe that there are no kiwi dead - and we hope that that continues to be the case..." and while I kind of see the point, what the hell difference does it make where someone comes from?
Trust that all the people you love are safe and that that 'continues to be the case'.
Loads of hugs xx
