Saturday night now - Becs went back to school on Thursday (following her Pneumonia / Bronchitis / chest infection - very precise diagnoses here!) - So I went to work! Had been at my desk less than half an hour, hadn't even opened my e-mails (!) when I got a call from school telling me Lou was throwing up!! So left work - shortest days work in history me thinks! Anyway, Lou was off Thursday and Friday - Becca had her Meningococcal (sorry about spelling!) B jab on Thursday and has been grizzling ever since because her arm hurts - and just to make my life heavenly, now all three of us have streaming colds - there are little piles of used tissues all over the place - lovely - and Becca goes through the night barking like a dog! Last night I tried to get all three of us into bed together - but somehow, Louisa takes up more space than your average adult (even a very large one!) and I had to bail around 3.00am to sleep in the bunk bed!

However, today's big thing was Becca's netball match. Despite the fact that I had to virtually crow bar this pathetic wimpy being out of bed, she did actually make it onto the netball court. The girls all had huge fun - and got loads of exercise (lots and lots of jumping up and down!), and lost - but for the spectators it was fantastic entertainment! Whenever someone new got the ball, particularly after intercepting it from the other team, we were madly screaming and pointing so they knew which direction they were going in!

The teams are all 6 and 7 year olds so they haven't quite got the idea of throwing the ball to the player who has some space about them, and marking is obviously a little beyond them as yet - so far throwing and catching have been the main focuses!! However, Becca only played the 2nd half, by which time most of the players had figured out that they should be trying to pass the ball to their own team members, and to her credit, she actually did very well. I was even quite proud of her when the umpire had to have a word with her for jumping up and down a little bit too close to the opposition girl who was trying to pass the ball!

Anyway, Becs enjoyed herself and has now decided that she is in competition with Lou to see who can play for the Silver Ferns first! Final score was 2 - 1 - will keep you posted - you never know we might win some time this term!

(Lou's match on Wednesday was a 21 - 2 loss, but Lou did score so all was not totally depressing!)
